Businesses claiming Fuel Tax Credits should be aware of changes impacting the April–June 2026 BAS period.

The Federal Government has introduced a temporary 32c per litre reduction in fuel excise, alongside a three-month reduction of the heavy vehicle road user charge to zero and a six-month deferral of the next scheduled increase.

As a result, Fuel Tax Credit rates have been adjusted for this period. If you’re lodging a BAS for April–June 2026, it’s important to ensure the correct rates are applied.

With changes occurring mid-reporting period, calculations can be more complex than usual. Our team can help you navigate the updates and ensure your BAS remains compliant.
