For the third year running, Shakespeare Financial Group’s cycling team completed the MACA Cancer 200 Ride for Research over the weekend. Starting at Optus Stadium on Saturday, the cyclists rode to Mandurah, stayed overnight, and then rode back on Sunday, completing 200km in total.
The Shakespeare cycling team members were Stuart MacKinnon, Aidan Rando, Peter Elkerbout, Matt Robertson, Tony Da Silva, Michael Searle, Nicholas Redbond, Troy Culloton, and Adam Carter.
This year the team raised $54,898 for The Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, which is the largest medical research institute in WA working on diseases that most affect our families including cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and rare genetic diseases.
This year all Shakespeare staff helped raise money by selling 1,208 raffle tickets. First prize winner, Cara Kennedy won a three-night stay in a two-bedroom villa at the Pullman Bunker Bay Resort in Margaret River. Lauren McWilliam won the $500 cash second prize.
Over the three years, Shakespeare has raised over $150,000 for Perkins, this year being our best effort yet.
We look forward to beating our record in 2023 and hope you can continue to support us.
